This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Report directly to the Controller while providing support for the accounting, tax, and financial reporting activities.
• Manage the month-end closing process, including journal entries for accruals, depreciation, amortization, and variance analysis.
• Supervise month-end account reconciliations and address any outstanding issues.
• Prepare consolidations, essential working papers, consolidated schedules, and management reports.
• Oversee intercompany transaction accounting and reconciliation across subsidiaries.
• Prepare and review capitalized labor and amortization entries.
• Assist in the preparation of capitalization memos.
• Process and reconcile cross-charges among related entities.
• Generate weekly cash flow forecasts and conduct variance analysis.
• Process payroll and input employee changes, hours, and updates into the payroll system.
• Confirm payroll reports prior to processing.
• Support annual financial audits and quarterly financial reviews.
• Aid in the preparation of financial statements, MD&A, and notes to financial statements.
• Carry out technical accounting, accounts payable and receivable support, as well as financial analysis.
• Prepare and submit HST/QST returns and remittances.
• Address GST/HST and QST notices, reassessments, and inquiries from government audits.
• Collaborate with tax advisors and auditors for corporate tax return preparation.
• Identify and implement process enhancements, efficiency measures, and automation strategies.
• Contribute to finance projects and initiatives on an as-needed basis.
• A university degree in Commerce, Finance, or Accounting.
• CPA designation or an equivalent accounting qualification.
• A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in a finance and accounting position.
• Experience in a multi-entity and multi-currency SaaS setting.
• Strong grasp of full-cycle accounting and financial reporting.
• Significant experience with IFRS reporting and technical accounting.
• Familiarity with IFRS 16 Leases, IFRS 9 Financial Instruments, IAS 38 Intangible Assets, and IFRS relating to Consolidated Financial Statements.
• Experience in preparing indirect tax filings, including GST/HST and QST returns.
• Knowledge of foreign exchange accounting and intercompany eliminations.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Skills in cross-functional collaboration.
• Logical, efficient, detail-oriented, and well-organized.
• Capability to solve problems and navigate complexity in a dynamic and ambiguous environment.
• Exposure to mergers and acquisitions, multi-currencies, and multi-subsidiary consolidation.
• Proven ability to deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.
• Experience working with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Prior experience with Sage Intacct, QuickBooks Online, and Salesforce is preferred.
• Canadian work experience is not mandatory.
