This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Prepare and post journal entries for the monthly close, encompassing accruals, prepaids, and revenue/COGS entries.
• Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and investigate as well as resolve discrepancies.
• Assist in financial consolidation, including intercompany transactions and considerations for foreign exchange.
• Maintain schedules for fixed assets and related depreciation entries.
• Aid in the preparation of audit schedules and respond to inquiries from auditors.
• Contribute to the preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Identify opportunities for enhancing or automating manual closing processes.
• Collaborate with Finance Operations (P2P/O2C) to ensure accurate cutoffs and transaction recording.
• Support ad hoc analyses and special projects as requested by the Accounting Manager.
• Operate under IFRS across various legal entities and engage with accounting, tax, and finance operations teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 2–4 years of accounting experience, preferably including month-end close responsibilities.
• CPA/CA designation completed or in progress.
• Working knowledge of IFRS or a robust foundation in GAAP with a willingness to learn the specific nuances of IFRS.
• Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite.
• Strong proficiency in Excel.
• Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage deadlines during the closing process.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach.
• Eagerness to learn AI tools for reconciliation, variance analysis, and documentation.
• Preferred exposure to multi-entity or multi-currency accounting.
• Experience in a SaaS, hardware, or hybrid hardware/software business is preferred.
• Experience supporting external audits is preferred.
• Must undergo a criminal records check upon hire.
• Must be a Canadian Citizen, including dual citizens, or eligible to work in Canada.
