Senior Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska, +34 more states.

📋 Description

• Prepare intricate accounting analyses and reconciliations to facilitate general ledger entries.

• Calculate and record complex transactions within financial systems.

• Conduct detailed financial reconciliations and analyses.

• Act as a technical resource and intermediary for facility finance, department managers, and colleagues.

• Investigate and rectify discrepancies in the general ledger.

• Support management and departmental leaders in collecting, distributing, and interpreting financial data.

• Offer financial modeling support for special projects.

• Educate users on assigned financial reporting systems and the process of report preparation.

• Generate precise reports and presentations for state and federal agencies, management, and auditors.

• Maintain various financial databases, including statistical and contractual information.

• May serve as the Cost Center/Program CFO.

• Assist with operational enhancements, efficiencies, budgeting, and interpretation of financial reports.

• Potentially oversee the facility budget processes, including materials, manager training, progress tracking, and budget-status summaries.

• Ensure the accuracy of statistical files and databases.

• Stay updated on advancements in financial accounting and technology fields.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.

• 3–5 years of experience in healthcare finance.

• Proven expertise in financial statement preparation and analysis.

• Strong analytical, statistical, and modeling capabilities.

• Familiarity with computer applications and office desktop software.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Proficiency in prioritizing multiple projects effectively.

• Competence in utilizing advanced software programs.

• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

• Previous experience in Health Insurance Accounting is highly preferred.

• Familiarity with commonly used systems: Lawson, Excel, Blackline.

• Must reside in one of the designated states: AK, AZ, AR, CA, CO, GA, FL, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, MD, MI, MO, MN, MS, NH, NM, NY, NC, ND, NE, NV, OH, OK, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, WI, WV, WA, or WY.

• Must be available to work Monday through Friday during the day hours of the Arizona time zone.
