Senior Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Execute daily accounting tasks encompassing AP, AR, cash management, payroll, fixed assets, and the general ledger.

• Aid in the monthly closing process by recording journal entries, conducting account reconciliations, and performing ad hoc financial analyses.

• Examine and investigate accounting treatments for transactions, intricate contracts, and specialized areas such as ASC 606, ASC 842, ASC 718, and ASC 805.

• Oversee complex schedules and compliance updates pertaining to lease accounting and inventory accounting models.

• Collaborate with external accountants during audit processes.

• Maintain communication and foster working relationships with various teams to guarantee exceptional customer service and quality work product.

• Support projects and additional assignments as necessary.

• Undertake other responsibilities as assigned.

• Work closely with the Controller and the Accounting team across finance and accounting functions.

• Assume ownership of essential general ledger duties and offer specialized technical accounting support in areas such as revenue recognition, leases, and M&A.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• 4-6 years of progressive experience in accounting/finance; a combination of public accounting and private industry experience is preferred.

• Direct, hands-on experience with ASC 606 (Revenue), ASC 842 (Leases), ASC 718 (Stock-Based Compensation), and ASC 805 (Business Combinations).

• Strong understanding of GAAP.

• Capability to independently manage month-end closing schedules and complex account reconciliations.

• Previous experience with M&A accounting, business combinations, or technical accounting implementation projects.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP and pivot tables.

• High level of trustworthiness and ability to manage confidential information.

• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to present to senior management.

• Detail-oriented with strong analytical capabilities.

• Ability to identify and drive improvements in processes/systems.

• Capacity to navigate uncertainty, prioritize conflicting tasks, and function effectively in a scaling startup or high-growth company environment.

• Industry experience in Tech, Software, Healthtech, or Manufacturing/Inventory environments is preferred.

• CPA and/or MBA qualifications are a plus.
