This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Review and reconcile payroll-related accounts for both employees and employers.
• Develop and update a year-to-date wage expense schedule linked to the payroll register.
• Investigate and rectify discrepancies among payroll reports, benefit invoices, tax filings, cash payments, and the general ledger.
• Manage month-end closing tasks associated with payroll, benefits, taxes, accrued wages, bonuses, and other related payroll expenses.
• Ensure commissions are coded accurately and processed in a timely manner.
• Prepare payroll-related documentation and schedules for internal reviews, audits, tax filings, and financial reporting purposes.
• Assist with cross-training on payment processing functions, such as wire transfers and ACH payments.
• Help review and analyze contracts within the Sage Intacct Contracts module, focusing on contract values, lines, billing and revenue schedules, start and end dates, and revenue recognition data.
• Collaborate with payroll, accounting, HR, finance, and operations teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Over 5 years of accounting experience, particularly in payroll accounting or payroll reconciliations.
• Comprehensive understanding of payroll taxes, employee deductions, employer benefits, garnishments, wage expenses, and payroll liability accounts.
• Proficient in reconciling payroll reports with the general ledger and bank activities.
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and large data analysis.
• Familiarity with Sage Intacct and Rippling software.
• Knowledge of payment processing controls, such as wire transfers, ACH payments, approvals, and segregation of duties is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and capability to investigate and resolve complex reconciliation discrepancies.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and effectively communicate with cross-functional teams.
• Experience in a multi-entity environment.
• Understanding of payroll accounting practices for U.S. and Canadian payrolls.
• Experience with Rippling and Sage Intacct, specifically the Contracts module.
• Background in payment processing, treasury support, wire transfers, ACH payments, or banking platforms.
• Familiarity with month-end close processes, audit support, contract review, and payroll compliance.
• Ability to document procedures, cross-train on key accounting functions, and enhance reconciliation processes.
• Customer approval may be necessary for access to customer information, systems, and/or premises.
