This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assist in the month-end closing process by preparing, reviewing, and analyzing journal entries, account reconciliations, and associated financial data.
• Execute accounting tasks related to eliminations, intercompany transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and additional Corporate Accounting Operations duties.
• Generate and evaluate financial statements, statutory accounts, reports, and supporting documentation.
• Review and supervise accounting work completed by offshore team members to ensure quality, accuracy, compliance, and internal controls.
• Perform ad hoc analysis and support initiatives that enhance reporting accuracy, process efficiency, and business insights.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate accounting matters, address inquiries, and convey financial implications.
• Address moderately complex to intricate accounting issues with limited guidance.
• Foster an effective control environment and fulfill the team’s financial reporting responsibilities.
• Report directly to the Business Intelligence Lead in Corporate Accounting.
• Act as an individual contributor.
• A Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting or finance position.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Familiarity with Power Platform tools, including Power BI, Power Automate, or Power Apps.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Capability to manage multiple priorities, adhere to deadlines, and work autonomously.
• Ability to assess complex accounting challenges and identify suitable solutions.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Preferred: Previous experience with SQL, Power Query, VBA, or other coding/automation tools.
• Preferred: Experience within the health insurance sector.
• Preferred: Familiarity with month-end closing procedures.
• Preferred: Prior experience with Databricks.
• Preferred: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or active pursuit of CPA certification.
• Must meet home internet connectivity requirements of at least 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload for remote or hybrid work setups.
• Must work in a dedicated space without disturbances to safeguard member PHI/HIPAA information.
