Senior Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Oversee the entire month-end closing process, encompassing journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and reviews of balance sheets and P&L.

• Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts within NetSuite.

• Handle daily and monthly cash reporting along with banking activities.

• Execute bank and credit card reconciliations.

• Prepare weekly payments for vendors.

• Manage the monthly partner remittance process.

• Ensure complete and accurate documentation for all financial transactions.

• Collaborate with the business to guarantee proper recording of transactions.

• Prepare monthly sales tax submissions for both Canada and the US.

• Provide support for annual audit and tax filing requests.

• Generate month-end financial reports related to investors and compliance.

• Spearhead process improvement and data cleanup initiatives within corporate accounting.

• Identify and promote AI and automation opportunities in accounting workflows.

• Conduct ad hoc analysis and create reporting as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience, with a solid background in accounting or financial reporting from the industry.

• Strong technical expertise in Canadian GAAP (ASPE) and/or US GAAP/IFRS.

• Preferred experience with US and Canadian sales tax filings.

• CPA certification is advantageous but not mandatory.

• Proficiency in NetSuite is essential.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) and Google Suite.

• Familiarity with Tipalti and Float/Ramp is a plus.

• A genuine enthusiasm for utilizing AI-powered tools like Claude to enhance accounting workflows.

• A mindset geared towards process improvement, with a proven ability to identify inefficiencies and develop superior working methods.

• Capability to operate with a high degree of independence and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
