Revenue & Receivables Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and uphold accounting procedures and systems that concentrate on accounts receivable, billing, and revenue management.

• Process and evaluate customer invoices, credit memos, and necessary adjustments.

• Oversee and reconcile accounts receivable balances, aging reports, and unapplied cash.

• Document customer payments and assist in cash application processes.

• Aid in revenue accounting, manage deferred revenue schedules, and carry out revenue reconciliations.

• Prepare and analyze journal entries related to revenue, accounts receivable, and associated accounts.

• Investigate and resolve issues concerning billing discrepancies, customer disputes, and payment discrepancies.

• Conduct account reconciliations and provide explanations for variances.

• Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes.

• Help facilitate internal and external audits.

• Suggest enhancements to billing, accounts receivable, and revenue processes, including system improvements and automation.

• Collaborate with Sales, Billing, Revenue Accounting, and Customer Success teams regarding contract billing and collections.

• Create and document procedures to strengthen internal controls.

• Ensure adherence to GAAP, SOX 404, and company policies.

• Identify and implement automation opportunities within the closing process or accounts receivable workflow cross-functionally.

• Support broader accounting initiatives and projects as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

• 5-8 years of relevant experience in accounts receivable, billing, or general accounting.

• Knowledge of GAAP principles.

• Familiarity with revenue recognition principles (ASC 606 preferred).

• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle, SAP).

• Proficient in Excel.

• Strong attention to detail with the capability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication abilities.

• Proficient in written and spoken English.
