This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Take charge of payroll, accounts payable, and month-end closing entries and reconciliations across various accounting functions.
• Oversee the General Ledger and prepare/post journal entries in compliance with GAAP standards.
• Execute month-end closing tasks, including reconciliations for accruals, prepaids, reserves, fixed assets, leases, depreciation/amortization, and debt.
• Prepare schedules and supporting documents for financial statements, 401(k), insurance, tax, and other compliance audits and examinations.
• Conduct the company’s bi-weekly payroll processing.
• Identify and prioritize opportunities to automate and enhance business processes, analyses, and reporting.
• Document and monitor internal controls and assist with regular internal audit procedures.
• Evaluate business process designs to enhance efficiency, quality, and compliance.
• Contribute to the development and review of the annual operating budget and financial projections.
• Support financial and variance analysis of monthly results.
• Foster transparency, collaboration, feedback, and a culture of excellence within the work environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is mandatory.
• Active CPA designation is preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience is required, showcasing strong general ledger and month-end closing expertise.
• At least 2 years of experience in public accounting is desirable.
• Familiarity with accounting software environments is essential; experience with Sage Intacct is preferred.
• Proven experience in reviewing lease agreements and understanding accounting for lease transactions (ASC 842).
• Advanced Excel skills are required, including VLOOKUPS, Pivot Tables, and commonly used financial formulas.
• Demonstrated ability to build financial models, automate reports, and aggregate, clean, and analyze large and complex financial and operational data sets is essential.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Power Query and Power Pivot is preferred.
• Experience in using PowerPoint or other presentation tools to develop management and Board presentations is needed.
• Previous exposure to C-Level executives and familiarity with working in a high-growth environment is preferred.
• Self-motivated individual with the ability to work autonomously and drive results in a fast-paced setting.
• Experience in learning new systems and tools, actively seeking opportunities to create operational efficiencies with existing processes.
• A background in multi-facility healthcare or other multi-business unit reporting environments is preferred.
• Familiarity with ABA and Autism services is an advantage, although not required.
• A data-driven decision-maker, capable of making recommendations through systematic analysis.
• Demonstrated sound judgment and comfort in leading strategic decision-making, project prioritization, and the allocation of financial and human resources for privately backed organizations.
