Senior Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut.

📋 Description

• Take charge of and oversee daily accounting functions within QuickBooks.

• Direct the month-end and year-end closing activities.

• Prepare and review journal entries as well as account reconciliations.

• Conduct bank reconciliations and ensure precise general ledger activity.

• Generate financial statements and management reporting packages.

• Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, billing, and revenue recognition tasks.

• Provide support for budgeting, forecasting, and audit assistance.

• Analyze financial outcomes and deliver valuable insights to management.

• Discover opportunities for process enhancement through automation, AI tools, and technology.

• Collaborate directly with senior financial leadership in a dynamic remote setting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient experience with QuickBooks (mandatory).

• Extensive senior-level accounting experience with a hands-on approach.

• Proven experience in preparing journal entries.

• Demonstrated experience in account reconciliations.

• Skilled in preparing bank reconciliations.

• Familiarity with month-end closing procedures.

• Experience in financial reporting.

• Strong proficiency in Excel.

• Experience using AI tools in an accounting or finance context.

• Background in revenue recognition, contract accounting, or recurring revenue models is preferred.

• CPA or CPA-track designation is advantageous.

• Background in SaaS, healthcare technology, healthcare services, or professional services is an asset.

• Experience in supporting growing or entrepreneurial organizations is a plus.

• Exposure to forecasting, budgeting, and audit support is considered a bonus.
