Staff Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Deliver outsourced accounting and financial reporting services to a varied portfolio of clients

• Execute attestation tasks, which include the compilation and preparation of financial statement engagements

• Conduct month-end and quarter-end closures for several client engagements

• Manage prepaids, accruals, depreciation, and other GAAP accounting adjustments

• Aid in the preparation of GAAP work papers and trial balances

• Utilize basic GAAP accounting while progressing to more complex GAAP accounting with supervisor guidance

• Process accounts payable and generate payable reports/checks with necessary approvals

• Handle and maintain accounts receivable and facilitate deposits

• Record bank and credit card transactions using QuickBooks

• Carry out bank reconciliations and monitor cash balances

• Create effective work schedules

• Build and cultivate client relationships

• Collaborate as a team member to finalize project components and assignment tasks

• Engage in outsourced accounting team meetings

• Report directly to a Manager in the Outsourced Accounting Services Practice Group

• A minimum of a BA/BS degree in Accounting

• Ability to work effectively as a team player with a positive attitude

• Proficient computer skills

• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills are essential

• Capability to manage multiple ongoing assignments and multitask

• Strong interpersonal skills and relationship-building abilities

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

• Relevant work experience is advantageous

• Travel requirement is less than 10% per year
