Senior Cost Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Monthly reconciliation of Finished Goods and Raw Material inventory accounts, investigating and addressing any discrepancies.

• Execute quarterly calculations for Excess and Obsolete (E&O) inventory, adhering to company guidelines.

• Carry out reviews and analyses of OCOGS (Other Cost of Goods Sold) expenses.

• Prepare and document booking adjustments and accrual journal entries.

• Conduct quarterly calculations and analyses of Inventory Overhead.

• Assist in the month-end closing process of the General Ledger for cost-related accounts.

• Collaborate with Supply Chain and Operations regarding inventory and cost issues.

• Provide support for internal and external audit inquiries related to inventory and cost accounting.

• Identify opportunities and propose enhancements for cost accounting and inventory reporting processes.

• Create standard financial worksheets and reports, including forecasting, process evaluations, and ad hoc analyses.

• Excellent analytical abilities and meticulous attention to detail.

• Strong communication and presentation skills.

• Capacity for independent thinking and self-direction.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.

• Over 5 years of experience in the accounting field.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

• Competence in accurately preparing financial reports.

• CPA certification preferred.

• Experience in cost accounting, public accounting, or auditing is preferred.

• Familiarity with Oracle or similar ERP systems is preferred.
