Senior Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.

📋 Description

• Prepare and record journal entries for accruals, prepaids, deferrals, and reclassifications in accordance with US GAAP.

• Take ownership of designated month-end closing activities following a specified close calendar and ensure timely completion.

• Implement ASC 606 revenue recognition for both marketplace and wholesale channels.

• Create supporting schedules and documentation required for external auditors.

• Reconcile inventory across 3PL warehouses, Amazon FBA, and in-transit inventory with the general ledger.

• Analyze inventory variances to determine root causes.

• Maintain calculations for landed costs encompassing product costs, freight, duties, tariffs, and drayage.

• Assist in managing reserves for excess and slow-moving inventory.

• Process receipts, transfers, and other inventory transactions efficiently.

• Generate monthly reconciliations for assigned balance sheet accounts.

• Conduct flux and trend analyses on balance sheet and P&L accounts.

• Identify and resolve unreconciled items, stale balances, and misclassifications; suggest necessary corrections.

• Leverage AI to automate recurring closing tasks, including settlement files, 3PL reports, reconciliation preparation, and initial variance commentary.

• Establish boundaries for AI automation, review AI-generated outputs before posting, and document evidence for audit trails.

• Document workflows, identify control gaps and single points of failure, and collaborate with Operations and Supply Chain to enhance upstream data quality.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3 to 5 years of accounting experience, including full ownership of the month-end close process rather than mere assistance.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

• Proficient understanding of US GAAP, particularly regarding inventory and revenue recognition.

• Advanced skills in Excel and Google Sheets, including pivot tables, lookups, and handling large data volumes.

• Experience using QuickBooks Desktop.

• Daily user of AI with independent experience in developing related projects.

• Ability to assess AI limitations, validate outputs against source data, and safeguard company financial information by avoiding unauthorized tools.

• Eagerness to stay updated with newly released AI tools.

• Open to coaching and responsive to direct feedback.

• Strong communication skills and proactive in addressing discrepancies promptly.

• Exceptional attention to detail and sound judgment.
