This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +17 more states.
• Take ownership of month-end closing processes, reconciliations, and regular reporting, ensuring timely delivery.
• Manage investment accounting tasks, including journal entries, investment schedules, and reconciliations.
• Prepare and assist with state compliance filings, forecasts, and necessary calculations.
• Provide support for the accounting of new insurance programs and work to standardize associated processes.
• Uphold GAAP, statutory, and regulatory compliance, including maintaining internal controls and related documentation.
• Recognize recurring accounting tasks that should be automated and redesign them using AI tools.
• Map current processes, create prototypes of AI-enabled alternatives, and oversee their implementation.
• Facilitate the handoff of automations with necessary documentation and training to empower process owners for independent management.
• Assess and trial AI tools for accounting and finance, while also training team members on their use.
• Ensure that AI-enhanced processes incorporate adequate controls, documentation, and human oversight.
• Utilize AI in investment accounting and reporting workflows.
• Align the accounting team's AI initiatives with Branch’s enterprise AI strategy, standards, and governance.
• Support a growing array of insurance programs while standardizing accounting practices.
• Over 5 years of experience in corporate accounting.
• Proven ability to independently manage month-end closing, reconciliations, and compliance reporting.
• Experience in investment accounting, or a demonstrated capacity to learn it swiftly.
• A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Practical experience in applying AI to real-world scenarios.
• History of automating repetitive tasks effectively.
• Capability to teach and document developed processes for smooth handoff.
• Strong comprehension of AI tools and concepts.
• A proactive and inventive mindset towards challenging existing practices.
• Ability to make informed decisions in situations with incomplete data.
• Outstanding analytical skills.
• Established track record of managing multiple projects and prioritizing tasks effectively.
• Capacity to work independently and navigate ambiguity.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Aptitude for identifying opportunities and devising data-driven solutions.
• Candidates must currently hold authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
• Experience in insurance or statutory accounting is advantageous, though not essential.
