This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Act as the principal integrated pharmacy benefits subject matter expert for Cigna Pharmacy clients within a designated geographical area.
• Oversee pharmacy account management, client and producer relations, strategic initiatives, and retention efforts for integrated pharmacy clients.
• Cultivate and sustain relationships with medical sales teams, pharmacy underwriting, brokers, consultants, clients, leadership, and cross-functional partners.
• Manage and preserve a designated book of business through renewal strategies, portfolio management, pricing, affordability solutions, performance guarantees, and client risk evaluations.
• Assist in pharmacy-specific client strategies and complex renewals as a strategic partner to the medical sales organization.
• Lead and engage in client, broker, finalist, and executive discussions.
• Advocate for and inform stakeholders about pharmacy products, services, clinical programs, and integrated healthcare solutions.
• Create and present business plans, performance reviews, value summaries, market updates, and product presentations.
• Evaluate pharmacy claims utilization, financial performance, rebates, guarantees, and cost-management possibilities.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for pharmacy service, clinical, and member-related concerns.
• Assist with pricing, audits, contracts, implementation, and requests for non-standard offerings.
• Maintain pharmacy-related client contracts, ASO agreements, RFP responses, reports, and communications.
• Collect, analyze, and disseminate competitive intelligence for retention and new business prospects.
• Convey complex information clearly, manage competing priorities, resolve issues using data-driven insights, and support the evolving needs of clients and the business.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; Master’s degree is a plus.
• 5+ years of experience in Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) supporting client expectations.
• 5+ years of experience with the financial and pricing strategies of PBM.
• Operational knowledge and proficiency with the PBM business model.
• Previous experience in Finance, Underwriting, Broker, or Manufacturer Relations preferred.
• Technical proficiency with all Microsoft programs.
• Experience in consultative client management methodologies.
• Demonstrated ability to manage renewals independently with minimal supervision.
• Capability to navigate organizational processes necessary to support clients.
• Self-driven, exhibiting ownership, accountability, and responsibility.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time, depending on the candidate’s location, often with little or no prior notice.
• Candidates must reside in California or a neighboring state.
• If working remotely, a cable broadband or fiber optic internet connection with a minimum of 10 Mbps download/5 Mbps upload is required.
