Senior Account Director

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Provide strategic and operational guidance across various publications and medical affairs accounts.

• Establish trusted connections with senior client stakeholders, offering strategic advice and proactive solutions.

• Manage publication programs, which include abstracts, posters, manuscripts, congress activities, and other related deliverables.

• Supervise broader medical affairs initiatives.

• Collaborate with Scientific Services and cross-functional teams to create and implement strategic medical communications plans.

• Advocate for operational best practices and identify opportunities to enhance delivery, boost efficiencies, and support organic account growth.

• Take ownership of account financial performance, encompassing budgeting, forecasting, profitability, reconciliation, invoicing, and SOW development.

• Lead and mentor multiple Client Services team members.

• Spearhead and assist in business development efforts, including proposals, RFPs/RFIs, presentations, budgets, and the onboarding of new business.

• Collaborate with senior Client Services leadership on team resourcing, development, training, and exploring new service offerings.

• Ensure that teams effectively manage risks, priorities, timelines, and stakeholder expectations.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or a related discipline; advanced degree is preferred.

• Significant experience in a medical communications agency, with deep expertise in publications and medical affairs.

• Proven track record of successfully leading multiple complex client accounts and providing strategic advice to senior stakeholders.

• Strong understanding of publication planning and execution, medical affairs communications, industry standards, and compliance requirements.

• Demonstrated experience in leading and developing Client Services teams, including managing other managers and/or multiple direct reports.

• Solid financial acumen, encompassing budgeting, forecasting, profitability, SOW development, and account expansion.

• Experience in leading or contributing to new business development efforts, such as proposals, pitches, and RFP/RFI responses.

• Exceptional communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.

• Familiarity with platforms like iEnvision, Veeva, or similar systems.
