Security Systems Technical Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Lead the strategic planning, technical execution, and delivery of enterprise-level physical security technology projects, encompassing PACS, VMS, video analytics, and associated security infrastructure.

• Take ownership of projects from the stages of requirements gathering and technical design through to testing, deployment, commissioning, and operational handoff.

• Create project plans, schedules, milestones, and technical specifications while effectively managing dependencies, risks, and resource requirements.

• Assess existing security systems and formulate remediation strategies to enhance system health, reliability, performance, and operational efficiency.

• Provide technical leadership for system migrations, upgrades, integrations, and lifecycle initiatives across on-premises, hybrid, and SaaS environments.

• Conduct or oversee system configuration, provisioning, integration testing, troubleshooting, and issue resolution for enterprise security platforms.

• Review technical designs, system architectures, device configurations, and infrastructure requirements to ensure that solutions comply with security, operational, and enterprise standards.

• Collaborate with security operations, IT, engineering, vendors, and other stakeholders to align technical solutions with business and operational needs.

• Identify opportunities to enhance processes related to security technology, system lifecycle management, and operational workflows through standardization and automation.

• Produce technical documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), implementation plans, and recommendations that support sustainable system operations and ongoing improvement.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in the design, implementation, support, or management of enterprise physical security systems and technologies.

• Strong technical proficiency with Physical Access Control Systems (PACS), Video Management Systems (VMS), badging, and related technologies.

• Practical experience with enterprise platforms such as Lenel OnGuard, C•CURE 9000, Genetec Security Center, or similar systems.

• Proven experience with system migrations, integrations, upgrades, commissioning, and lifecycle management.

• Deep understanding of security system architecture, networking, databases, servers, and cloud/hybrid environments.

• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues, evaluate system health, identify root causes, and devise remediation strategies.

• Strong project coordination and organizational skills, capable of managing multiple technical initiatives, priorities, and dependencies.

• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with security, IT, engineering, vendors, and other stakeholders.
