Security Infrastructure Engineer Intern

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Peru.

📋 Description

• Assist in managing vulnerability activities, including reviewing scan results and validating findings.

• Support the triage process for security findings from both internal tools and external sources.

• Aid in the analysis of logs and alerts from SIEM systems to identify potential security concerns.

• Participate in initial security incident investigations and documentation efforts.

• Assist in the implementation and enhancement of security controls within AWS and Kubernetes infrastructure.

• Contribute to initiatives aimed at improving detection capabilities and monitoring coverage.

• Learn and participate in securing CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure workflows.

• Collaborate with engineering teams to comprehend and address security challenges.

⛳️ Requirements

• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program in Cybersecurity or a related discipline.

• Basic knowledge of computer systems, networking, and foundational security concepts.

• Familiarity with Linux and command-line interface tools.

• Interest in cloud platforms (preferably AWS) and infrastructure systems.

• Basic understanding of common security principles (e.g., vulnerabilities, authentication, OWASP Top 10).

• Exposure to programming or scripting languages (Python, Go, or Bash).

• Strong problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.

• Willingness to learn and take responsibility for assigned tasks.

• Proven experience using Claude or similar large language model tools is essential; candidates should be adept at utilizing AI to boost productivity, research, and communication.

• Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and foundational Kubernetes concepts.

• Exposure to logging, monitoring, or SIEM tools.

• Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines.

• Interest in fields such as cloud security, infrastructure security, or detection engineering.
