Security Engineer – Cloud & Infrastructure Security

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, operate, and continually enhance security controls within cloud and enterprise environments.

• Collaborate with Engineering, Infrastructure, and DevOps teams to integrate security into system design and operational workflows.

• Engage in various domains including cloud security, network security, AI security, Identity and Access Management (IAM), and Privileged Access Management (PAM).

• Assess security requirements and propose practical, scalable, risk-based solutions.

• Resolve intricate security and infrastructure challenges across cloud, identity, networking, Kubernetes, and application environments.

• Establish and uphold security monitoring, detection, and response capabilities.

• Investigate security incidents and assist in containment, remediation, root cause analysis, and subsequent improvements.

• Perform security reviews, threat assessments, and architecture evaluations.

• Implement and maintain Web Application Firewalls (WAF), network firewalls, ingress, and other network security measures.

• Create automation using APIs, scripting, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and AI-assisted workflows.

• Develop and maintain security standards, guidelines, runbooks, and operational procedures.

• Manage operational responses to security requests, production issues, incidents, and urgent security needs.

• Support compliance and audit efforts.

• Work with stakeholders to identify, prioritize, and mitigate security risks.

• Design and implement security guardrails for AI workloads, addressing emerging AI security threats.

• Assess new threats, technologies, and industry practices to enhance security posture.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of experience in Security Engineering, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Cloud System Administration, Infrastructure Engineering, or a related field.

• Practical experience with public cloud infrastructure and foundational cloud security principles.

• Hands-on experience with AWS or GCP, covering IAM, networking, logging, security controls, and infrastructure troubleshooting.

• Knowledge of cloud security principles, network security, and contemporary security architectures.

• Familiarity with identity, authentication, authorization, Single Sign-On (SSO), and privileged access controls.

• Experience with security monitoring, logging, detection, or incident response tools.

• Proficient in troubleshooting infrastructure or cloud security issues across various technology layers.

• Capability to assess security requirements and convert them into feasible technical solutions.

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation technologies such as Terraform, Python, scripting, or APIs.

• Understanding of containerized and cloud-native environments like Kubernetes.

• Familiarity with WAFs, firewalls, ingress controls, or cloud-native network security technologies.

• Exposure to security frameworks and compliance standards such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI DSS, NIST, or similar.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.

• Self-motivated, proactive, eager to learn, and comfortable taking ownership of issues until resolution.
