Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Incorporate security measures into the software development lifecycle via automation, testing, and ongoing enhancements.

• Detect, investigate, and resolve application and infrastructure security vulnerabilities.

• Create tools and automation for security, developer productivity, and operational visibility using Python, Go, or Terraform.

• Assist with security assessments, compliance initiatives, and continuous monitoring efforts.

• Promote security best practices throughout engineering teams.

• Collaborate closely with software engineers to develop secure software and resilient cloud-native systems that support essential government services.

⛳️ Requirements

• Solid foundation in software engineering with experience in writing production-level code.

• Background in application security, DevSecOps, or cloud security.

• Knowledge of secure software design principles, authentication/authorization mechanisms, and common application security vulnerabilities.

• Proficiency in at least one widely-used programming language and one infrastructure-as-code language.

• Minimum of 3 years of engineering experience.

• Capability to work independently and adapt quickly in complex environments.

• Experience in supporting security assessments, compliance, or continuous monitoring within regulated environments.

• Familiarity with federal cloud and security standards, including FISMA.

• Experience in operating and analyzing systems on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud platforms.

• Authorization to work in the United States.

• Must currently reside in the United States or its territories.

• Must have lived in the United States or its territories for three of the last five years.

• At least three years of professional experience is required.

• All work must be conducted physically within the United States or its territories.
