Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Oversee, maintain, and provide support for enterprise security technologies, which include SIEM, IDS/IPS, vulnerability management, and malware protection solutions.

• Address security incidents, alerts, and operational events following established protocols.

• Manage and prioritize requests from service management queues and engineering support email accounts.

• Configure, fine-tune, and enhance security tools, policies, detections, and alerts.

• Diagnose issues within security infrastructure and assist with audit, compliance, and governance tasks.

• Facilitate ITSM processes, including incident, problem, and change management.

• Examine network traffic, authentication events, endpoint telemetry, and various security data to detect potential threats.

• Create and maintain security documentation, standards, procedures, and playbooks.

• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to enhance security posture and operational efficiency.

• Provide support for Aerospace and Federal Government clients.

⛳️ Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.

• Capability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Security Operations Center (SOC) or Security Engineering environment.

• Experience in managing large enterprise cybersecurity operations.

• In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP networking, security monitoring, and incident response methodologies.

• Familiarity with security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, CMMC, SOX, and PCI-DSS.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Preferred experience with Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, QRadar, ArcSight, or comparable SIEM platforms.

• Preferred experience with Microsoft Defender, CrowdStrike, Trellix, or similar endpoint security technologies.

• Preferred experience with vulnerability management tools like Tenable, Nessus, Qualys, or Rapid7.

• Knowledge of cloud security, especially Microsoft Azure, is preferred.

• Experience with PowerShell, Python, KQL, APIs, automation, and SOAR technologies is preferred.

• Preferred experience supporting Linux/Unix environments.

• Industry certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, CISA, GCIH, GCIA, GCFA, GPEN, or equivalent are preferred.
