Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Oversee and optimize Microsoft Sentinel (SIEM), encompassing rule development, use-case formulation, and incident management.

• Administer and enhance the Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch/ELK) for log ingestion, indexing, and security analytics.

• Set up, maintain, and resolve issues with enterprise firewalls, including management of rules, policy strengthening, and traffic analysis.

• Manage and refine EDR (Endpoint Detection & Response) solutions for threat identification and incident management.

• Collaborate with SOC/IT teams to ensure adherence to banking regulatory and security standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated practical experience with Microsoft Sentinel (or a comparable SIEM).

• Strong expertise in the administration of Elastic/ELK Stack.

• Extensive experience in configuring and managing firewalls, including Palo Alto, Fortinet, or Check Point.

• Hands-on experience with EDR platforms such as CrowdStrike, Defender for Endpoint, or SentinelOne.

• Solid understanding of Linux administration.

• Familiarity with cloud environments and cloud security principles, including Azure, AWS, or GCP.

• Frequent use of AI tools to enhance productivity, automate repetitive tasks, support decision-making, and achieve higher-quality results.

• Capability to utilize AI tools responsibly by crafting effective prompts, critically assessing outputs, recognizing limitations, and taking accountability for the final product.

• Knowledge of security and compliance requirements within the banking/financial sector.

• Relevant certifications such as Security+, CySA+, SC-200, or vendor-specific certifications.
