Security Electronics Technician III

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Develop strategies for the procurement, installation, daily on-site maintenance, upgrades, replacements, and preventive maintenance of electronic security systems, including annual IDS testing.

• Maintain an inventory of electronic security equipment and update records as items are added, upgraded, or removed.

• Offer technical support to team members and serve as the technical authority for customers.

• Diagnose issues with electrical systems, test devices, install electronic components and surveillance cameras, and utilize software monitoring systems.

• Adhere to layout sheets, building plans, floor plans, circuit schematics, descriptions, and manufacturer technical instructions.

• Create, schedule, and finalize work orders with comprehensive descriptions of the tasks completed.

• Process work orders requested by customers through email, phone, or text communications.

• Complete and submit work orders and annual testing reports to the customer and project manager on a weekly basis.

• Provide monthly documentation of activities to the project manager by the first day of the following month.

• Prepare weekly expense reports as necessary.

• Carry out additional job-related responsibilities as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• Active Department of Treasury clearance or the ability to obtain one.

• Approximately 3+ years of experience in government or commercial installations and locations is preferred.

• Required experience with Video Surveillance Systems (VSS), Access Control Systems (ACS), and Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS).

• Knowledge and training in circuitry, electronics, basic wiring connections, fiber optic cabling and connections, CAT6 cabling runs, and troubleshooting.

• Experience in installing, maintaining, upgrading, and supporting ACS, IDS, and VSS hardware/software.

• Familiarity with centralized monitoring systems such as Identiv, Honeywell, and Bosch is preferred.

• Formal training as a low voltage electrician is advantageous.

• Formal education in electronics and circuitry through technical schools or industry-vendor certification programs.

• Proficient in using digital multimeters, toner tracers, lineman handsets, and video test monitors.

• Certification as an installer for equipment brands such as Identiv/Hirsch, Software House, Bosch, Honeywell, and Exacq.

• Capability to lift or move items weighing up to 25 lbs.

• Proficiency in MS Office Suite applications.

• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.

• GED is required.

• Must successfully pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
