Security Coach

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Facilitate regular customer security coaching sessions, tactical reviews, advisory meetings, and high-level security discussions.

• Assess threats, incidents, posture trends, identity risks, compliance insights, and Microsoft security telemetry.

• Convert technical findings into business-oriented recommendations, strategic roadmaps, and actionable next steps.

• Collaborate with MDR/SecOps, Customer Success Managers, consultants, and analysts to synchronize customer priorities and communication strategies.

• Assist customers in comprehending their security landscape and the effectiveness of their tools, processes, and controls.

• Offer guidance on Microsoft security capabilities, including Defender XDR, Sentinel, Entra ID, Purview, Conditional Access, MFA, PIM, email security, insider risk, and cloud app governance.

• Provide counsel on emerging AI security and governance practices related to Microsoft Copilot, AI-powered workloads, and agent-based technologies.

• Create and sustain customer-specific security roadmaps aligned with licensing, budget, risk priorities, compliance imperatives, and measurable outcomes.

• Execute security architecture and adoption planning.

• Evaluate external and internal security threats, including malware, identity-based risks, data leakage, attack surface reduction, and AI-related security challenges.

• Prepare advisory documents, tactical presentations, quarterly summaries for executives, and client-facing recommendations utilizing dashboards, analytics tools, KQL queries, reports, and telemetry trends.

• Steer client discussions toward security enhancements, roadmap initiatives, and ongoing improvements.

• Oversee customer security concerns, escalations, and requests, transforming insights into repeatable guidance.

• Contribute to playbooks, best practices, and coaching resources while mentoring consultants or analysts as necessary.

• Build foundational knowledge of Microsoft Agent 365 and associated agent governance capabilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in cybersecurity, cloud security, managed security services, or related technical advisory roles.

• Proficient client-facing consulting and advisory abilities, including establishing trust, guiding conversations, and influencing both business and technical stakeholders.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Defender XDR, Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Entra ID, and Microsoft Purview.

• Experience in analyzing security telemetry, dashboards, reports, incidents, identity risks, and compliance-related insights.

• Strong knowledge of security frameworks and compliance requirements such as NIST CSF, CIS Controls, PCI, HIPAA, or similar standards.

• Capability to convert complex security data into actionable insights for technical teams and executive audiences.

• Strong business acumen linking security priorities with customer objectives, operational demands, and risk mitigation.

• Exceptional written, verbal, presentation, and executive storytelling abilities.

• Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, time management, and organizational capabilities.

• Ability to manage multiple clients, priorities, and workstreams in a dynamic environment.

• Capacity to collaborate across MDR/SecOps, Customer Success, consulting, and customer stakeholder teams.

• Professional demeanor, accountability, and composure in customer-facing situations.

• Awareness of AI security, AI governance, Microsoft Copilot, or generative AI security considerations.

• Understanding of Microsoft security architecture principles, including identity, data protection, compliance, Zero Trust, and cloud security governance.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.

• Willingness to travel periodically, up to approximately 10-15% of the time.

• Preferred Microsoft security certifications such as SC-100, AZ-500, or related certifications.

• Relevant industry certifications like CompTIA Security+, CEH, GSEC, CISSP, or CISM are preferred.
