This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to applications while ensuring the maintenance of fire alarm systems, TCP/IP networks, video surveillance, access control, and wireless solutions.
• Install, repair, and maintain integrated systems for intrusion, fire, video surveillance, network, and VoIP.
• Operate in the field employing effective methods to address service challenges.
• Provide training to customers on systems supplied by Interface.
• Ensure precise inventory levels through physical inventory assessments.
• Verify and submit inventory paperwork in compliance with company policy.
• Install and terminate cabling for networks and security systems.
• Firestop various cable penetrations as needed.
• Follow and advocate for OSHA health and safety protocols.
• Engage with customer representatives regarding projects and service inquiries.
• Collaborate with vendors and end users on each project.
• Interact directly with customers at the site level.
• Maintain the assigned vehicle and tools in good condition.
• Participate in on-call duties on a rotating basis.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license.
• Proven field experience is necessary.
• At least 2 years of experience as a field technician in the electronic security sector.
• Capability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
• Familiarity with terminology related to telecom, data, security, and wireless systems.
• Knowledge of standard practices, engineering, and safety standards in telecom, data, security, and wireless systems.
• Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Must be able to pass relevant state and federal background checks to qualify as a registered security installer.
• Comfortable utilizing both small hand tools and power tools.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Flexible schedule and willingness to travel overnight.
• Dexterity in fingers and wrists along with good hand/eye coordination.
• Capability to exert heavy physical effort.
• Ability to ascend stairs, ladders, and/or scaffolds.
• Must be able to work at heights while employing proper fall protection measures.
• Ability to carry loads up and down stairs.
• Vocational/Technical/Business School education is strongly preferred.
