This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland, +2 more states.
• Drive the growth of Cisco Security within a designated portfolio of Federal Civilian clients located in the Capital Region.
• Establish trusted relationships with agency leaders, executives, technology, cybersecurity, and operational authorities.
• Cultivate a thorough understanding of client missions, cybersecurity objectives, modernization efforts, and operational hurdles.
• Create and implement strategic account plans for the assigned customers and agencies.
• Identify opportunities to enhance security architectures and bolster cyber and operational resilience.
• Position Cisco’s Security offerings, which include Zero Trust, secure access, network security, cloud security, threat detection and response, application security, and AI-driven security operations.
• Collaborate with Cisco Account Managers, Security Specialists, Solutions Engineers, partners, and wider account teams.
• Navigate the complexities of federal procurement processes, contract vehicles, funding cycles, and multi-stakeholder buying scenarios.
• Develop and maintain a robust sales pipeline.
• Meet or surpass the assigned sales targets.
• Minimum of 5 years of sales experience.
• At least 2 years concentrated on cybersecurity, networking, infrastructure, or related technology solutions.
• Proven experience in selling technology solutions to Federal Government, Federal Civilian, or other Public Sector entities.
• Demonstrated history of meeting or exceeding sales quotas in complex enterprise or public sector settings.
• Proven experience managing complex sales opportunities involving multiple technical, executive, procurement, and partner stakeholders.
• Experience in developing and executing strategic territory and account plans.
• Preferred: experience in selling cybersecurity solutions such as network security, cloud security, SASE/SSE, Zero Trust, XDR, application security, or identity-related technologies.
• Preferred: existing knowledge of or connections within Capital Region Federal Civilian accounts.
• Familiarity with federal procurement processes, contract vehicles, government funding cycles, and partner-led go-to-market strategies.
• Experience supporting clients responsible for critical government services, transportation, legislative operations, infrastructure, or other mission-critical environments.
• Capability to engage credibly with executive leadership and technical/security stakeholders.
• Strong executive presence and proven success in nurturing long-term customer relationships.
• Experience employing consultative and value-based sales methodologies such as MEDDPICC.
• Ability to navigate complex Cisco account teams and partner ecosystems while retaining responsibility for the security strategy and opportunity.
