Secondary Special Education Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah.

📋 Description

• Deliver clear instruction to students in a face-to-face environment utilizing an online teaching model and resources.

• Offer virtual teaching, instructional support, and general strategies for a designated group of students.

• Create, write, and assist in the implementation of IEPs and 504 plans.

• Assess tests and evaluations, finalize report cards, and hold parent conferences.

• Engage with parents and learning coaches to ensure IEP objectives and student requirements are met.

• Collaborate with teachers and coordinate specially tailored instruction outlined in IEPs.

• Provide direct student services through web conferencing tools as necessary.

• Plan, organize, and facilitate virtual IEP-related meetings.

• Participate in the Student Support Team at the school.

• Assist teachers and learning coaches in developing and executing program modifications and strategies.

• Aid in the completion of IEP documentation and procedures.

• Help identify and negotiate contracts with service providers.

• Keep accurate records in the Learning Management System and special education software.

• Support state testing and coordinate special adaptations required by IEPs.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• Possess and maintain a Special Education educator license in Utah.

• Residency in Utah is mandatory.

• Exhibit multi-cultural awareness.

• Proficient in technology, particularly with Microsoft and Google applications.

• Exceptional oral and written communication skills.

• Student-focused approach.

• Ability to adapt to changes seamlessly.

• Capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to collaborate effectively and work independently.

• Willingness to occasionally travel for school events, which may include overnight stays.

• Maintain a consistent, distraction-free workspace with reliable Wi-Fi.

• Must have access to a personal electronic device and email for two-step authentication.
