Secondary Special Education Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +5 more states.

📋 Description

• Manage educational programs for students with special needs in a virtual setting.

• Offer instructional support, virtual teaching, and general strategies for a designated group of students.

• Create, document, and assist in the execution of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

• Assess tests and evaluations; prepare report cards and progress reports; hold parent conferences.

• Maintain regular communication with parents and learning coaches to ensure adherence to IEP goals.

• Collaborate with teachers and coordinate specially designed instruction.

• Deliver direct student services using web-conferencing tools as required.

• Organize, schedule, and facilitate IEP-related meetings in a virtual format.

• Engage in the school’s Student Support Team activities.

• Support teachers and learning coaches in developing and executing program modifications and strategies.

• Aid in IEP documentation, paperwork, and procedural tasks.

• Identify service providers for students requiring related services as mandated by IEPs.

• Keep precise and current data in the Learning Management System and special education software.

• Assist with state assessments and coordinate special adaptations required by IEPs.

• Collaborate with teachers and district professionals to ensure program effectiveness and compliance with federal and state regulations.

• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related educational field (SPED).

• Valid Utah teaching license.

• Preference will be given to candidates residing in Utah.

• Applicants from Idaho, Nevada, Arizona, Colorado, and Wyoming are encouraged to submit their applications.

• Experience with policy (IDEA) and/or administrative roles in Special Education.

• Proficient in technology, particularly with Google products.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Customer-oriented mindset.

• High level of adaptability and capability to prioritize tasks effectively.

• Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

• Demonstrated history of being a team player.

• Willingness to travel overnight occasionally for school and state testing events.

• Must have the ability to use a personal electronic device and an email address for 2-step authentication.
