Secondary Advisory Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.

📋 Description

• Provide virtual assistance to students and parents/learning coaches regarding course selection and scheduling.

• Act as the primary point of contact for student concerns across various subject areas and non-academic matters.

• Counsel students and families on academic matters, career planning, graduation, course selection, and four-year academic planning.

• Stay informed about high school graduation and state credit requirements.

• Offer guidance on course withdrawals and schedule modifications.

• Evaluate transcripts and input credits into the online transcript system.

• Collect and forward student records as necessary.

• Initiate programs that address interpersonal adjustment challenges.

• Assist families in accessing school and community resources.

• Engage in crisis prevention and management planning, participating as a member of the Student Support Team.

• Collaborate with teachers to identify at-risk or crisis students and communicate effectively with impacted students and families.

• Maintain each student's Personal Learning Plan meticulously.

• Aid in withdrawal processes and the collection of related data.

• Report and refer critical incidents, ensuring compliance with incident-reporting protocols.

• Support mid-semester enrollments and manage grades, credits, and evaluations appropriately.

• Work alongside the Curriculum Team to fulfill state requirements.

• Implement Advanced Placement, SAT/ACT preparation, and college entrance preparation initiatives.

• Assist with high school assessments, which include exit exams, PSAT, SAT, ACT, and AP exams.

• Help students research options for post-secondary education and career paths.

• Facilitate college and job applications while educating families about admissions processes and financial aid opportunities.

• Promote professional development for teachers and staff.

• Teach and grade as required, including middle school elective courses.

• Organize high school graduation ceremonies.

• Execute other assigned responsibilities as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• Colorado teacher certification in a secondary subject area or grade level is required.

• Experience with English Language Learners (ELL) is preferred.

• Proficient technology skills, particularly with Microsoft Office applications.

• Exceptional oral and written communication abilities.
