Seasonal Tax Reviewer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +8 more states.

📋 Description

• Review completed tax returns for individuals, businesses, partnerships, or trusts to identify errors, discrepancies, documentation, signatures, supporting materials, and filing deadlines.

• Offer support to tax preparers and serve as a technical resource and escalation point for intricate tax inquiries.

• Collaborate with client personnel to assess and apply accounting and tax principles.

• Reach out to clients via phone or email to collect essential information.

• Secure filing extensions when needed.

• Conduct thorough tax return reviews, research, and compliance tasks.

• Keep technical tax skills current through practical experience and internal training.

• Investigate current tax laws and regulations.

• Assist clients with tax planning and business strategies.

• Mentor and oversee junior family members.

• Ensure all tasks are performed in accordance with firm policies and procedures.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience is required.

• A Bachelor's degree is mandatory.

• A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.

• CPA is required; alternatively, JD or Enrolled Agent status is acceptable.

• Experience in reviewing tax returns for individuals, businesses, partnerships, or trusts is necessary.

• Familiarity with accounting principles, accounting theory, tax law, and current tax regulations is essential.

• Capability to perform complex tax research is required.

• Proficiency in calculations and compliance work is needed.

• Ability to provide tax guidance and serve as a technical resource is crucial.

• Must be able to work in accordance with firm policies and procedures.
