Seasonal Tax Research Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Missouri.

📋 Description

• Conduct research, analyze, and evaluate the current year's state tax forms, vendor specifications, letters of intent, and requirements.

• Identify, document, and provide guidance to the company regarding tax changes that impact compliance with state Departments of Revenue.

• Support tax software developers by researching and addressing tax-related inquiries.

• Analyze moderately complex tax scenarios and apply relevant current, proposed, or historical legislation.

• Suggest forms to be added to or removed from the existing tax-form suite.

• Coordinate, develop, and assist with tax research that supports Government Relations, Media Relations, Marketing, Legal, Insurance, Software Development, Pricing & Analytics, and Field Training.

• Coordinate or take part in teams that analyze and prepare summaries of passed and proposed tax legislation.

• Edit, review, and verify tax-related materials for accuracy and completeness.

• Complete assigned projects by the deadlines agreed upon.

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience through a combination of education and related work experience.

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in tax research, tax preparation, or a related discipline.

• Strong knowledge of tax legislation.

• Ability to interpret, analyze, and develop solutions for highly complex tax situations.

• Capable of handling confidential information with professionalism and discretion.

• Ability to work independently while maintaining concentration.

• Capable of performing tasks in a highly detailed and accurate manner.

• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.

• Proficient in using at least one online tax research tool.

• Familiarity with and prior use of a Windows-based computer system.

• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
