Scrum Master

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Empower one or more product and engineering teams to effectively deliver work by utilizing strong agile methodologies, facilitation, continuous improvement, and the elimination of delivery obstacles.

• Take ownership of the team's agile delivery processes and operational methods.

• Facilitate essential activities such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.

• Mentor teams on agile principles and practices to enhance their agile maturity.

• Establish efficient delivery practices, including backlog refinement, estimation, technical design discussions, dependency management, and transparent planning for delivery.

• Identify and eliminate blockers, escalating issues that arise outside the team.

• Assist with sprint planning, capacity management, workflow monitoring, and maintaining a sustainable delivery pace.

• Manage dependencies across teams and enhance the predictability of sprints.

• Monitor retrospective actions and delivery metrics such as velocity, cycle time, sprint predictability, and flow.

• Recognize recurring process challenges and collaborate with Product and Engineering leadership to address root causes.

• Safeguard team focus while promoting open and constructive discussions about risks and differing perspectives.

• Foster collaboration among Product, Engineering, and QA teams and assist with onboarding processes.

• Provide updates for sprints and releases, highlight delivery risks, and ensure accurate reporting in Jira.

• Offer visibility into upcoming changes to support operational readiness and product configuration tasks.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience as a Scrum Master working with cross-functional software development teams.

• Proven ability to enhance team delivery effectiveness through the application of Scrum, Kanban, or hybrid agile practices.

• Experience in coaching cross-functional teams and advancing agile maturity through practical insights.

• Strong skills in facilitation, coaching, conflict resolution, and stakeholder management.

• Extensive experience with Jira or similar agile delivery tools.

• Proactive in problem-solving and taking ownership of removing delivery barriers.

• Pragmatic approach to applying agile practices with a focus on delivery outcomes.

• Excellent communication abilities and a talent for constructively challenging unproductive behaviors.

• Composed, organized, highly collaborative, and capable of influencing without direct authority.

• Familiarity with, or a willingness to learn about, delivery considerations in regulated healthcare or medtech sectors.

• A recognized Scrum or Agile certification is preferred but not mandatory.

• Experience in a startup or scale-up environment is advantageous.
