Scientific Infrastructure Engineer III

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Design and implement software solutions aimed at enhancing the speed and reliability of laboratory operations.

• Oversee advanced laboratory support systems, including inventory management and asset tracking.

• Revise SLL, Emerald’s software library, to enrich the development experience for both internal and external users.

• Operate at the crossroads of experimental detail, industrial laboratory logistics, instrumentation integration, and software systems.

• Manage, monitor, and assist laboratory experiments through scientific infrastructure systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Ph.D. in Chemistry or Biology is required.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in roles such as Scientific Infrastructure Engineer, Scientific Automation Engineer, Research Scientist - Automation & Systems, Research & Development Infrastructure Scientist, or Research Engineer.

• Proficient in Mathematica Coding.

• Comfortable with thorough data analysis and experimental design.

• Willingness and capability to learn computer programming; previous experience is advantageous but not essential.

• Eager to learn programming for robotic automation; prior experience is a plus but not mandatory.

• Significant experience troubleshooting experiments and complex instrumentation during research activities.

• Experienced in conducting a diverse range of experimental types.

• Enthusiastic about rapidly acquiring expertise in various new methods and instrumentation.

• Enjoys building systems and automating processes.

• Detail-oriented individual who values precision in experimentation.

• Passionate about the fields of science, technology, and medicine.

• Empathetic and capable of articulating differing viewpoints persuasively.

• Intellectually adventurous across multiple fields.

• Inquisitive and eager to engage in first-principles reasoning.
