This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Belgium, +4 more countries.
• Develop, review, and uphold EPI’s operational rules and regulations by converting market, product, and regulatory requirements into clear and effective scheme documentation.
• Work collaboratively with EPI teams, member banks, and stakeholders to ensure that the scheme framework adapts to evolving business and regulatory demands.
• Oversee the onboarding process for new PSP applicants seeking EPI membership, ensuring that submissions are complete, consistent, and compliant.
• Evaluate applicant documentation from the perspectives of risk, financial stability, and AML, pinpointing potential issues and areas that need clarification.
• Prepare recommendations for the Membership Management Committee, emphasizing risks, observations, and onboarding decisions.
• Serve as a primary contact for applicant institutions throughout the membership assessment process.
• Ensure the accurate management, storage, and governance of membership and scheme-related documentation.
• Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of governance frameworks that support EPI’s growth and expansion.
• Over 5 years of professional experience in payments, scheme management, regulatory affairs, risk management, or a related field.
• A degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Law, or a related discipline is preferred.
• Proficiency in English (CEFR C1 or C2); knowledge of French, German, Dutch, or other European languages is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of the European payments landscape, including EPC SCT Inst, account-to-account payments, payment regulations, and scheme dynamics.
• Demonstrated experience in drafting, reviewing, or maintaining rules and regulations within a payment scheme or similar environment.
• Background in a financial institution, payment scheme, fintech, or regulated payments organization.
• Familiarity with risk management, financial stability assessments, and AML-related controls in payments environments.
• Remote-first culture with quarterly and annual all-staff in-person meetups to foster team connection and collaboration.
• Ability to work from another EU country for up to 3 months each year.
