SAP Project Manager – Remote with Some Travel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Oversee and coordinate both internal and external teams across a variety of IT projects and workstreams.

• Create, maintain, and manage comprehensive integrated project plans, schedules, deliverables, milestones, dependencies, and critical paths.

• Handle project scope, timelines, budgets, cost estimates, risks, issues, and change requests throughout the entire project lifecycle.

• Establish and uphold project governance frameworks, including defining roles, responsibilities, escalation procedures, and decision-making processes.

• Strategize and optimize resource allocation, capacity planning, and forecasting.

• Collaborate with business owners, technical teams, project sponsors, vendors, and system integrators to clarify requirements and align project goals.

• Manage project activities through stages of initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, controlling, and closure.

• Supervise vendor performance and cultivate relationships with key technology partners in both on-premises and cloud settings.

• Coordinate dependencies and schedules across SAP/ERP initiatives and associated enterprise systems.

• Maintain project documentation, status reports, approvals, sign-offs, and other necessary PMO artifacts.

• Track project progress and proactively identify risks, bottlenecks, dependencies, and opportunities for corrective actions.

• Deliver regular project updates, executive-level reports, and presentations to stakeholders.

• Facilitate project meetings, decision-making sessions, and communications with stakeholders.

• Conduct lessons-learned sessions and apply recommendations for continuous improvement.

• Ensure adherence to the PA Turnpike PMO Playbook, established project management standards, and relevant IT policies.

• Lead a complex, enterprise-wide SAP S/4HANA enhancement initiative known as Wave 2.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 10 years of project management experience delivering IT projects of various sizes and complexities.

• Proven experience in managing enterprise-level projects that involve scope, schedule, integration, communications, vendors, risks, and resources.

• Practical experience in managing SAP/ERP or enterprise business solutions projects.

• Experience overseeing complex, high-profile vendors in both cloud and on-premises environments.

• Demonstrated ability to manage multi-year projects and multiple concurrent workstreams.

• Expert-level skill in creating and maintaining integrated project plans using Microsoft Project and/or Microsoft Project Online.

• Strong understanding of project governance, budget management, cost estimation, risk mitigation, and resource capacity planning.

• Excellent leadership, conflict resolution, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication, documentation, and presentation skills.

• Capability to effectively coordinate with executive leadership, business stakeholders, IT teams, vendors, and system integrators.

• Preferred: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

• Preferred: Experience in leading SAP S/4HANA implementation, enhancement, or transformation initiatives.

• Preferred: Knowledge of SAP BTP, SAP Analytics Cloud, SAP Datasphere, and SAP SuccessFactors.

• Preferred: Experience managing integrations across enterprise applications and third-party platforms.

• Preferred: Familiarity with working within a PMO framework and adhering to formal project governance standards.

• Preferred: Prior experience with public-sector organizations, transportation, infrastructure, or other complex enterprise environments.
