SAP HCM/Payroll Functional Consultant – Custom Development, Testing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Assist in the design, documentation, and testing of custom SAP development objects related to HR and payroll functions.

• Convert business and functional requirements into comprehensive functional design specifications.

• Evaluate business requirements, process documentation, and solution designs.

• Establish business rules, calculations, data structures, validations, and error handling procedures.

• Determine SAP HCM/Payroll configuration dependencies, data needs, and integration points.

• Lead design walkthroughs and collaborate effectively with both functional and technical teams.

• Offer clarifications to developers throughout the build phase.

• Ensure traceability between requirements, functional designs, and implemented objects.

• Create test scenarios, test scripts, and test data.

• Conduct functional testing and confirm results align with documented specifications.

• Verify calculations, business rules, data flows, error conditions, and exception handling.

• Record test outcomes and maintain documentation for audits and traceability.

• Identify defects, work with developers to address them, retest fixes, and assist with regression testing.

• Aid in readiness and handoff activities for upcoming testing phases.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders, functional subject matter experts, technical developers, and project leadership.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of functional experience with SAP HCM.

• Comprehensive understanding of HR processes and SAP HCM data structures.

• Proven experience in developing functional specifications for SAP custom developments.

• Experience in designing and executing functional test cases for SAP solutions.

• Capability to translate business requirements into detailed functional and technical documentation.

• Familiarity with types of SAP custom development objects (reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, forms, workflows).

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

• Must be eligible for a Public Trust clearance.

• Must possess U.S. work authorization that does not currently or will not in the future require visa sponsorship.
