SAP Basis Administrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Install, configure, maintain, upgrade, and provide support for SAP systems, databases, and operating systems, including Solution Manager, ECC, Fiori, GRC, and associated platforms.

• Design SAP technical solutions to enhance business operations and ensure long-term system scalability.

• Conduct system refreshes and database copies, implement SAP notes, and execute support packs, kernel upgrades, and version upgrades.

• Monitor system performance and utilization while managing SAP licenses.

• Oversee multiple projects while ensuring the smooth operation of systems across all business areas.

• Create and manage user security, roles, and authorization concepts throughout the SAP environment.

• Collaborate with Functional, Middleware, Development, and Security teams on upgrades, code migrations, and integrations.

• Administer and maintain SAP GRC access controls.

• Investigate and resolve security incidents, access violations, and audit findings.

• Develop and manage backup, restore, business continuity, and disaster recovery strategies.

• Test and verify disaster recovery plans.

• Implement IT governance controls and change management processes.

• Assist with IT audits, analyze findings, and provide remediation solutions.

• Maintain comprehensive documentation on system landscape architecture, configurations, maintenance procedures, and schedules.

• Stay updated on SAP Basis and security technologies, tools, and industry best practices.

• Engage in knowledge-sharing and ongoing improvement initiatives.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

• A minimum of five (5) years of experience managing SAP technologies as an SAP Basis Administrator in a medium or large organization.

• Practical experience in SAP security administration, including roles, authorizations, and access control management.

• Experience in installing, configuring, and upgrading SAP systems such as Solution Manager, ECC, Fiori, and GRC.

• Proven experience in developing and executing backup, restore, and disaster recovery plans for SAP environments.

• Capability to prioritize tasks, work autonomously, and pursue objectives with minimal supervision.

• Ability to manage multiple projects while demonstrating a strong commitment to meeting deadlines and responsibilities.

• Preferred: Experience with SAP S/4HANA Basis administration and technical architecture.

• Preferred: Experience with SAP GRC Access Control and a comprehensive security architecture.

• Preferred: Experience in supporting IT audits and regulatory compliance standards (e.g., SOX).

• Preferred: SAP certifications in Basis, Security, or a related field.

• Preferred: Experience with cloud-hosted SAP environments (AWS, Azure, or SAP HEC).

• Preferred: Background in real estate, homebuilding, retail, or a related industry.

• Exceptional problem-solving, project management, and process mapping abilities.

• Strong writing, analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

• In-depth understanding of SAP technical architecture and landscape management.

• Comprehensive knowledge of SAP security, authorizations, and GRC principles.

• Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and manage multiple competing priorities effectively.

• Proficient written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong collaboration and relationship-building abilities across functional, technical, and security teams.

• Working proficiency in SAP Basis tools, Solution Manager, and Microsoft Office applications.
