This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of a sales territory and oversee the complete sales lifecycle as part of a regional sales team.
• Create business plans for the territory, assess funding landscapes, and customize sales strategies to align with district initiatives.
• Meet individual revenue targets while collaborating with cross-functional teams to bolster Newsela’s national sales growth.
• Conduct virtual meetings with school and district leaders, present solutions, negotiate terms, and finalize agreements.
• Enhance the adoption of Newsela products within K-12 classrooms.
• Serve as a representative of Newsela in the market, provide strategic recommendations, and manage priorities autonomously.
• Assess customer needs, craft tailored solutions, negotiate within set guidelines, and drive revenue and business results.
• A minimum of 2 years of full-cycle K-12 EdTech sales experience is mandatory.
• A proven history of meeting or surpassing large sales quotas.
• Previous experience in ELA or Social Studies teaching/instructional coaching is preferred, or a solid understanding of K-12 pedagogy.
• Experience in strategic territory management.
• Executive presence for consultative discussions with districts that involve various stakeholders.
• Background in high-volume district sales.
• Demonstrated capability to build a book of business from the ground up.
• Ability to expedite sales closures in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills, adaptability to change, quick learning ability, maintenance of high service standards, and achievement of sales goals.
• Openness to connect face-to-face with customers and prospects.
• Willingness to travel approximately 25%, based on business and customer requirements.
• Flexibility to work varied hours; most accounts are situated in Eastern and Central time zones.
• Experience utilizing AI tools to enhance efficiency and productivity.
