This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Wisconsin.
• Develop and enhance a strategic approach for the Wisconsin territory, balancing current adoptions with new business initiatives.
• Recognize opportunities at the course, department, and institution levels, including multi-section and coordinated course programs.
• Engage in discovery discussions with instructors regarding course structures and objectives.
• Position Macmillan Learning solutions, particularly Achieve, to enhance student outcomes and course efficiency.
• Provide personalized in-person and virtual demonstrations.
• Navigate complex sales cycles involving faculty, course coordinators, and departmental or institutional administrators.
• Assist customers from the initial interest stage through to implementation.
• Establish long-term relationships with faculty and campus partners.
• Collaborate effectively with marketing, customer success, and internal specialists.
• Keep precise records of contacts, opportunities, and activities in Salesforce.
• Manage pipeline and forecasting using sales data.
• Relay customer needs, competitive activities, and market trends to internal teams.
• Organize travel and campus visits based on territory priorities.
• Strategically manage sampling, travel, and entertainment budgets.
• Participate in sales meetings, training sessions, and relevant academic conferences.
• A bachelor's degree.
• Experience in a customer-facing or sales role; consultative or solution-based experience is highly preferred.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage a variety of audiences, from individual faculty to institutional decision-makers.
• Capability to work independently while remaining connected to a collaborative team.
• A sincere interest in education, teaching, and learning outcomes.
• Proficiency in using CRM systems and other digital tools.
• A valid driver's license and a willingness to travel extensively within your territory.
• Flexibility to manage a schedule that accommodates peak seasonal demands.
• Experience in educational publishing, edtech, or higher education is a plus.
• A proven record of managing complex or multi-stakeholder sales cycles is advantageous.
• Comfort with using data and insights to inform strategy and influence decisions is beneficial.
• Experience in delivering virtual and in-person presentations or demonstrations is a plus.
• Interest in how technology can enhance teaching, learning, and customer engagement is desirable.
• Must reside within the Wisconsin territory boundaries.
• Ability to travel more than 50% of the time, including frequent overnight trips.
• Willingness to work over 40 hours per week during fall and spring selling seasons.
• Capability to walk up to 2 miles daily on campus and sit/stand for extended periods at conventions.
• Ability to drive for durations of 2 to 5 hours, depending on the territory involved.
• Attendance at national sales meetings and regional meetings is mandatory.
