This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Drive business and sales expansion for Wabtec's Digital Intelligence portfolio.
• Understand the customer landscape of transit, commuter, and intercity rail agencies.
• Formulate and execute sales strategies in collaboration with Wabtec business units.
• Oversee assigned accounts and achieve order objectives.
• Act as the primary Wabtec liaison with customers across the entire product spectrum.
• Report directly to the Sales Director – Digital Intelligence – Passenger Rail.
• Comprehend customer business models, desired outcomes, and challenges.
• Cultivate customer relationships at the C-suite level and develop strategies to secure business.
• Deliver actionable customer insights to development teams.
• Spearhead Voice of the Customer initiatives and ensure customer satisfaction and hygiene.
• Create marketing, sales, and strategic business plans while fulfilling sales commitments.
• Drive business engagement on customer accounts.
• Lead cross-functional teams in consultative, outcome-oriented problem-solving.
• Oversee proposal development.
• Integrate technical support, contracts, finance, product support, and other teams into customer strategies.
• Direct plans and actions to achieve profitable sales.
• Assess customer satisfaction and ensure proper follow-through.
• A minimum of five (5) years of commercial experience, including product management and/or direct selling in the rail sector.
• A technical or business Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
• A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Transportation/Logistics, Engineering, or Computer Science from an accredited college or university.
• A Master's degree is considered an asset.
• Willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time.
• Demonstrated business and sales acumen with a successful track record of growth and margin retention.
• Proven ability to establish effective customer partnerships and understand stakeholder analysis, engagement, and influence.
• Experience in consultative selling involving complex projects, business challenges, customer organizations, and diverse cultural settings.
• Track record of leading business teams with customers and collaborating with internal Marketing, Engineering, and Product Management teams.
• Strong executive presence, confidence, communication, persuasion, and exceptional negotiation skills.
• In-depth knowledge of rail products, services, industry, and technical aspects.
• Previous experience with rail signaling and/or communication technologies, ideally in product management or project roles.
• Capability to lead and manage through evolving business conditions.
• Proficiency in understanding customers' key business drivers, strategies, and organizational dynamics.
• Expertise in formulating value/price propositions and differentiating products/services.
• Knowledge of actionable market segmentation and analysis.
• Eagerness to learn, share, grow, and pursue commercial excellence.
• Proven ability to challenge customer perspectives utilizing the Challenger Sales Methodology.
