This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Lead retail route sales for independent regional retailers, convenience stores, educational institutions, drugstores, and businesses serviced via direct-store-delivery.
• Secure placements for new products.
• Collaborate with senior management, sales, marketing, accounting, IT, and other departments to integrate sales initiatives.
• Partner with the Sales Manager to establish and maintain profitable retail operations.
• Oversee and expand existing accounts while executing approved sales strategies.
• Conduct business reviews and nurture relationships with regional and corporate retail chain offices and field management.
• Pursue new retail opportunities and sustain relationships with both corporate and regional buyers.
• Manage co-op funds and advertising budgets.
• Assess and coordinate DSD customer credits, reporting monthly to the Director of Sales.
• Evaluate and relay school bid quotations and service-related issues.
• Coordinate pricing for designated accounts in conjunction with the Sales Manager and pricing department.
• Report on competitive activities influencing sales volume and merchandising.
• Utilize current and upcoming systems to perform job functions effectively.
• Create weekly sales itineraries and communicate sales goals and objectives.
• Provide formal weekly sales activity reports to the Sales Manager, including category management and evidence-based selling utilizing market data.
• Drive sales initiatives on account schematics.
• Organize trade-show entry forms, staffing, booth shipping, decorations, samples, setup, and teardown.
• Collaborate with Marketing to execute approved point-of-sale materials and marketing programs.
• Offer product samples to potential clients for demonstrations and competitive comparisons.
• Adhere to antitrust laws and ensure fair and legal pricing practices.
• Manage special projects as assigned.
• Engage in light to moderate travel.
• Must be a resident of North Carolina.
• Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field, along with a minimum of three years of account management experience in food, dairy, or related sales; OR at least seven years of experience in retail, dairy, or related sales.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Proven account management experience in food, dairy, or similar sales sectors.
• Experience in retail, dairy, or related sales.
• Strong ability to communicate clearly and effectively through oral, written, visual, non-verbal, in-person, and digital means.
• Demonstrated accountability and proactive problem-solving skills.
• Customer-centered approach.
• Initiative in recognizing opportunities and addressing potential threats.
• Capacity to resolve complex issues with minimal guidance.
• Strong collaboration skills.
• Physical ability to talk, hear, stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
• Ability to frequently lift and/or move between 25 to 50 pounds.
• Close vision capabilities for computer tasks.
• Competence in operating a motor vehicle.
