This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Foster strategic relationships with key influencers and specifiers within the architectural design team.
• Discover and secure opportunities for preparing specifications related to doors and hardware.
• Provide accurate and timely product information for commercial project specifications.
• Conduct continuing educational programs that showcase new products, solutions, and design-assist professional services.
• Assist with product substitution and approval processes, following up throughout the bidding stages.
• Utilize Salesforce.com for managing customer relationships, tracking projects, and time management.
• Offer specification support and services to architectural firms.
• Act as the primary contact for architects regarding education, specifications, client satisfaction, and technical support needs.
• Oversee architectural development and project tracking.
• Obtain approval for internal writers to create Division 08 door and hardware specification documents.
• Advocate for the adoption of the Openings Studio BIM tool.
• Present project proposals for value-added professional services.
• Travel within the designated territory to meet customer needs.
• Must reside in Los Angeles County, CA.
• A college or university degree in architectural design, engineering, drafting, construction science/management, business, or a related field is preferred; or a minimum of a high school diploma/GED with relevant work experience.
• A minimum of 2–3 years of industry-related experience in architectural representation, specification writing, or Design-Build construction management may substitute for a degree.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with utilizing and maintaining CRM tools for sales and activity reporting.
• Ability to read and comprehend specifications and facility standards.
• Technical and sales aptitude related to the industry.
• Excellent communication, active listening, and negotiation abilities.
• Capacity to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to travel up to 80% within the assigned territory.
• Capability to perform responsibilities from a home office environment or while traveling.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. of sample and display materials.
• Detail-oriented, organized, self-motivated, accurate, and capable of managing multiple projects and time effectively.
