This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• Market BioCryst products to clients in the Cleveland, Ohio region while adhering to compliance standards.
• Employ effective sales techniques and marketing strategies to generate and increase demand for promoted brands.
• Enhance and broaden understanding of key customers.
• Establish, maintain, and regularly update an active customer database.
• Formulate strategies for the effective use of marketing materials and programs.
• Manage key accounts effectively.
• Develop business plans with resource allocations tied to business outcomes.
• Cultivate and nurture relationships with key decision-makers and thought leaders.
• Organize and coordinate compliant promotional initiatives.
• Execute field activities such as lunch and learns, customer in-services, and other client interactions.
• Timely and accurately complete expense reports and other required administrative documentation.
• Promptly report call information.
• Participate in training programs, conventions, and symposia as needed.
• Exhibit accountability, urgency, and a strong commitment to sales objectives.
• Collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Utilize resources and share best practices to meet or exceed business goals.
• Follow company compliance guidelines, policies, and procedures diligently.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent is required.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical and/or biotech sales.
• Experience in Rare Disease and small companies is preferred.
• Must reside in or near the greater Cleveland, Ohio area.
• Experience within academic or teaching institutions is preferred.
• Start-up commercial experience is a plus.
• Existing relationships with key accounts in the assigned geography are advantageous.
• Proven success in consistently exceeding sales targets, including national recognitions like President’s Club.
• Demonstrated success in a territory where the candidate served as the sole commercial salesperson.
• Proven capability to formulate and implement effective sales strategies for rare diseases and achieve results.
• In-depth knowledge of relevant disease states and current treatment options.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong business acumen and analytical skills.
• Proven ability to innovate, grow business, and operate both independently and collaboratively.
• Capable of quickly assimilating complex information.
• Outstanding negotiation skills.
• Familiarity with reimbursement processes.
• Knowledge of the territory.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Willingness to travel as needed, including potential overnight and/or weekend trips.
