This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina, +1 more state.
• Market BioCryst products to customers in the Detroit, Michigan region while adhering to compliance standards.
• Employ effective sales techniques and marketing strategies to generate and increase demand for promoted brands.
• Enhance and broaden understanding of key customers.
• Establish, maintain, and regularly update an active customer database.
• Formulate strategies for leveraging marketing materials and programs.
• Manage key accounts effectively.
• Develop business plans with resource allocations tied to business outcomes.
• Cultivate and strengthen relationships with key decision-makers and opinion leaders.
• Organize and coordinate promotional programs within the boundaries of promotional and regulatory guidelines.
• Engage in field activities, including lunch-and-learns, customer in-services, and other compliant interactions with customers.
• Accurately complete expense and administrative reports in a timely manner.
• Promptly report call information.
• Participate in requested training programs, conventions, and symposia.
• Exhibit accountability, urgency, and dedication to achieving sales targets.
• Collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Utilize resources and share best practices to meet or surpass business objectives.
• Follow company compliance guidelines, policies, and procedures.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical and/or biotech sales is necessary.
• Experience in Rare Disease and with small companies is preferred.
• Candidate must reside in or near the Detroit, MI area.
• Experience in academic or teaching institutions is a plus.
• Start-up commercial experience is advantageous.
• Existing relationships with key accounts in the assigned territory are beneficial.
• Proven track record of exceeding sales targets, including national recognitions like President’s Club.
• Demonstrated success in a territory where the candidate was the sole commercial salesperson.
• Proven capability to devise and execute effective sales strategies for rare diseases.
• Familiarity with relevant disease states and current treatments.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Strong analytical and business acumen.
• Proven ability to innovate, build, and expand business independently as well as collaboratively.
• Capacity to swiftly comprehend complex information.
• Excellent negotiation skills are required.
• Knowledge of reimbursement processes.
• Understanding of the territory.
• A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are mandatory.
• Willingness to travel as necessary, which may include overnight and/or weekend trips.
