This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Strategize and create comprehensive media plans from start to finish, with a clear understanding of inventory, KPIs, and product metrics.
• Serve as a reliable planning expert for Sales, Strategy, and Program Management within the pod structure, offering support to 1-2 pod groups.
• Oversee client requests during the RFP process, addressing plan modifications, budget adjustments, distribution inquiries, industry insights, specifications, and timeline development.
• Leverage internal resources and tools to enhance presentations and proposals with pertinent data.
• Become a Super User of the Order Management System, engaging in feature testing, bug resolution, and critical update assessments.
• Cultivate an in-depth understanding of the NYT Product Catalogue.
• Carry out at least two stretch projects, which may include subject matter expertise, taskforce involvement, mentoring, development of training materials, Media Mint support, or other projects assigned by management.
• Mentor 1-2 Sales Planners, facilitating their training and professional growth.
• Assist in assigning and evaluating the work, deadlines, quality, and performance of Sales Planners.
• Provide training to Sales Planners on OMS/Workflow, NYT Product Knowledge, and Terms & Conditions.
• Build reliable relationships with Sales leaders through dependability, product and strategic know-how, and open lines of communication.
• Lead the onboarding process for new Sales Planners.
• Contribute to broader team discussions and support the entire portfolio.
• Manage interdepartmental workflows in accordance with established processes and timelines.
• Handle ad hoc projects that shape the future direction of the Advertising sector and position NYT as an industry leader.
• Exhibit knowledge of the advertising landscape, including Viewability, Terms & Conditions, Reporting, Brand Safety, and Data Privacy.
• Provide coverage and resource assistance when other pod team members are unavailable or have limited capacity.
• 2-5 years of relevant experience in Digital advertising (Audio experience is a plus).
• Digital Planning experience is essential.
• Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) required.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are necessary.
• Familiarity with online proposal systems such as Lineup/Adpoint, DSM, Fat Tail, and Operative is preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft and Google office applications, as well as sales and data management tools like Sales Force, is desirable.
