This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +3 more states.
• Propel new business expansion by identifying, prospecting, and converting zero-billing and competitive accounts within the designated territory.
• Formulate and implement strategic territory plans leveraging market intelligence, customer insights, and data analytics.
• Oversee the complete sales cycle from lead generation and qualification through contract negotiation, closing, and account transition.
• Ensure accurate sales pipelines, account plans, and revenue forecasts utilizing CRM and business intelligence tools.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Medical Affairs, Finance, Contracts, and Technical Services teams.
• Cultivate relationships with healthcare professionals, administrators, distributors, and key decision-makers.
• Articulate Abbott’s value proposition while ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards.
• Meet annual new business objectives across Abbott’s infectious disease diagnostic product lines.
• Manage a territory pipeline from lead generation to closing, without overseeing existing accounts.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• A minimum of 4 years of demonstrated success in relevant sales experience.
• Proven history of success with competitive conversions, from lead generation to closing.
• Confirmed individual contributor experience in problem-solving, complex selling, planning, and execution.
• Willingness to travel within the assigned territory 4 days per week, with up to approximately 50% overnight travel.
• Candidates must reside in the New England territory.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, or life sciences.
• Preferred: Experience in medical sales, ideally in diagnostics.
• Preferred: Familiarity with laboratory and point-of-care environments, health system operations, and health economics.
• Preferred: Experience working with distribution partners.
• Preferred: Strong financial acumen with the ability to analyze healthcare market data.
• Preferred: Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven record of success in a team-selling environment.
• Preferred: Skilled negotiator with an established history of securing agreements.
