Safety Officer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Supervise and implement safety measures at data center locations.

• Create and enforce safety plans tailored to specific sites within data center operations.

• Facilitate weekly safety workshops for onsite personnel.

• Develop and present training materials customized to meet site-specific requirements.

• Monitor adherence to OSHA standards and other relevant regulations.

• Serve as a safety liaison by recognizing risks and offering proactive strategies to reduce hazards.

• Maintain detailed records of safety inspections, training sessions, and incident documentation.

• Perform site evaluations, identify potential risks, and enforce necessary corrective actions.

• Collaborate with onsite teams to cultivate a culture prioritizing safety.

• Ensure that team members comprehend and follow safety policies and procedures.

• Investigate incidents, document outcomes, and initiate corrective measures.

• Keep training logs, inspection reports, and safety audits updated.

• Identify and report risks to the relevant Executive Leadership Team member and assist in remediation efforts.

• Travel to various data center locations, with potential for up to 100% travel within the United States.

⛳️ Requirements

• Current OSHA 30 Certification (mandatory).

• Experience in a Data Center construction environment and understanding of associated risks (mandatory).

• Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA standards and other pertinent safety regulations.

• Facilitate weekly safety seminars for onsite teams, which includes designing the curriculum, crafting engaging presentations, and delivering interactive training during site visits.

• Exceptional communication and presentation abilities, with a talent for engaging and educating teams.

• Strong organizational capabilities and meticulous attention to detail.

• Capacity to evaluate risks, implement solutions, and enforce safety protocols effectively.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other tools for documentation and presentations.

• Willingness to travel to various locations and adapt to changing environments.

• Complete ongoing security awareness training and adhere to company policies.

• Identify and report risks to the designated Executive Leadership Team member and actively participate in remediation efforts.

• Additional safety certifications (e.g., CSP, CHST) are preferred.

• Experience in safety within data center settings or similar facilities is preferred.

• Familiarity with emergency response planning and first aid/CPR certification is preferred.
