SaaS Storyboard Designer – Contract

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Transform briefs, scripts, and product ideas into storyboards and animatics for SaaS explainer videos.

• Utilize composition, typography, visual storytelling, pacing, and visual craftsmanship in every frame.

• Collaborate with scriptwriters, motion graphic designers, and producers to create actionable guides for animators.

• Work alongside Product Marketing, Product, and Demand Generation teams to align on project goals and business objectives.

• Develop rough frames for quick ideation and polished boards for stakeholder approval.

• Incorporate feedback from creative reviews and refine storyboards accordingly.

• Consistently apply Clio’s brand and visual standards.

• Create reusable storyboard templates, frameworks, and visual conventions.

• Support the Creative Design Team’s Multimedia group during the pre-production phase.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional experience in storyboarding, visual development, or concept design, preferably for explainer videos, animation, or motion content.

• A robust portfolio showcasing clear, well-paced visual sequences derived from scripts or briefs.

• Proficient in Figma, Illustrator, Photoshop, Procreate, or specialized storyboard software like Boords.

• Comfortable incorporating AI tools into the design process.

• Strong foundational knowledge in composition, hierarchy, typography, and framing.

• Understanding of how design principles apply to motion and video.

• Capability to clarify abstract or technical software concepts for non-technical audiences.

• Experience working with scripts and voiceovers, aligning narration with on-screen visuals and timing.

• Familiarity with a brand system.

• Excellent organizational skills and proactive communication abilities.

• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively within a contract engagement.
