Entry-Level Civil OSP Design Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Conduct comprehensive quality control assessments of Civil OSP design packages, which encompass trenching, duct banks, manholes/handholes, and utility coordination.

• Confirm designs align with client-specific templates and technical documentation.

• Cross-verify designs with local jurisdictional regulations and national standards, including NEC and NESC.

• Spot inconsistencies or missing elements and deliver actionable feedback to CAD and design teams.

• Support Project Managers with the design review process, comment logs, and submission deadlines.

• Incorporate feedback from municipalities, permitting authorities, and other external stakeholders into design workflows.

• Engage in internal meetings to ensure design intent aligns with field conditions and construction requirements.

• Maintain quality control checklists for all project deliverables.

• Identify recurring design flaws and enhance upstream processes.

• Utilize Smartsheet, dashboards, and trackers to oversee workflow efficiency and minimize manual errors.

⛳️ Requirements

• BA/BS degree in a technology-related field or a similar discipline.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD or comparable GIS/design software.

• Background in OSP design, telecommunications, or civil drafting/review.

• Outstanding attention to detail.

• Strong written communication abilities.

• Capability to work independently in a remote setting.

• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and/or Smartsheet.

• Basic knowledge of Civil OSP components, such as conduit, cabling, and right-of-way (ROW).

• Sponsorship for U.S. employment authorization is not available presently or in the future.

• Required to attend an in-person onboarding on Day 1 at an AECOM office location.
