This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey, +1 more state.
• Commission intricate systems that integrate robots, laboratory instruments, and CellarioScheduler.
• Modify and troubleshoot workflows in CellarioScheduler, extending system functionalities in C# as needed.
• Collaborate with Applications for comprehensive workflow design.
• Take ownership of acceptance procedures and validate hardware, software, and integration deliverables prior to handover.
• Support multi-system deployments, ensuring continuous workflows and sample-state tracking across system boundaries.
• Conduct Factory Acceptance Testing and Site Acceptance Testing with minimal external support.
• Configure and diagnose automation hardware and integrated devices using firmware operations and device-level diagnostics.
• Develop and maintain C# automation software, scripts, device drivers, and integration hooks.
• Set up relational databases that support laboratory scheduling applications using SQL.
• Configure and operate SCARA and articulated robotic arms, including Kuka and Denso platforms.
• Engage in system design reviews and cross-functional technical meetings.
• Create and upkeep technical documentation.
• Provide hardware and software training to customer teams.
• Manage customer relationships and stakeholder expectations throughout project lifecycles.
• Simplify complex technical topics for varied customer audiences.
• Mentor junior engineers on commissioning, troubleshooting, and customer engagement.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field with 4+ years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree with 3+ years; or an Associate's degree with 6+ years.
• Practical experience in deploying, configuring, or supporting laboratory automation or industrial robotics systems in a customer-facing role.
• Familiarity with laboratory automation scheduling software such as CellarioScheduler, Green Button Go (Biosero), Momentum (Thermo Fisher), Overlord (PAA), or similar.
• Proficient in C# or another object-oriented programming language.
• Capacity to independently lead complex technical deployments with minimal oversight.
• Experience in configuring and troubleshooting robotic systems at both hardware and software levels.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving capabilities across hardware, software, and network layers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences.
• Willingness to travel up to and sometimes over 40% annually to customer sites, both domestically and internationally.
• Possession of a current driver's license and valid passport.
• Reliable personal transportation for regional travel.
• Comfortable working in laboratory and technical environments.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Preferred: experience with complex or multi-system automation environments, scripting, driver development, laboratory instrumentation integration, SCARA or articulated robotic arms, SQL, Python, TCP/IP, serial communications, firmware configuration, cross-functional technical meetings, mentorship, and project management.
